Indian actor Achyuth Kumar primarily performs in Kannada films, while he also appears in a small number of Tamil and Telugu productions. He is well recognized for his roles in the Lucia, Kantara, Sidlingu, and K.G.F. film series. In the categories of Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor, he has won three Filmfare Awards and two Karnataka State Film Awards.
Kumar was raised in Tiptur after being born in the Hassan district’s Belur town. From the Kalpatharu First Grade College, which was then a part of the University of Bangalore, he received a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Under the direction of Nataraj Huliyar, Kumar started acting while a college student in Tiptur, Karnataka, with his theater companies Geleyarabalaga, Mungaru Hudugaru, and Abhinaya Theatre Group. Later, he began his acting instruction at Ninasam. He was selected by Girish Kasaravalli to play a crucial part in his television serial opera Gruhabhanga in 2000 while he was performing in theater at the time. Kumar portrayed a helpful colleague to the protagonist’s daughter in the soap opera Moodala Mane. In Preethi Illada Mele, he played the eldest son of a judge (played by Anant Nag).
His acting career began in 2007 when he went on to play mobster Oil Kumar in the Kannada film Aa Dinagalu (2007) and the father of the female lead in Moggina Manasu (2008). He later established himself as a character actor, appearing in about 12 movies year. Additionally, he made several Tamil movies. However, Kumar gained a lot of recognition for his role in the 2013 movie Lucia. He portrayed Shankaranna in the movie, the proprietor of a theater where Sathish Ninasam’s character Nikhil works. He received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work.
