Theatre“Veede,” a 2003 Indian Telugu-language action film, marks the directorial prowess of Ravi Raja Pinisetty. The cast features Ravi Teja, Arti Agarwal, Reema Sen, and Sayaji Shinde. This cinematic creation serves as a remake of the Tamil movie “Dhool” from 2003, with key actors Sayaji Shinde, Reema Sen, Manoj K. Jayan, and Pasupathy reprising their roles from the original.
Notably, Telangana Shakuntala takes on a distinct role in this rendition. The narrative unfolds in Bobbarlanka village, where Yedukondalu (Ravi Teja), an uneducated and strong-willed youth, takes a stand against a nearby factory. This factory is releasing harmful pollutants into the river, a primary source of sustenance for the villagers. Yedukondalu, along with a fellow villager, Mangatayaru (Aarti Agarwal), ventures to Hyderabad to appeal to Byragi Naidu (Sayaji Shinde), their constituency’s MLA.
During their stay in Hyderabad, they encounter numerous challenges and hurdles in their quest to address the environmental issues plaguing their village. Yedukondalu’s confrontational approach becomes evident as he clashes with the MLA’s goons, unaware of the impending danger he faces due to Byragi Naidu’s hidden agenda. As the plot unfolds, Yedukondalu devises a plan to expose the MLA’s true intentions and safeguard his village’s interests.
The storyline introduces Swapna (Reema Sen), a journalist residing in Yedukondalu’s locality, who not only develops a strong admiration for him but also aids him in his quest against the corrupt politician. The narrative takes an intriguing turn as Yedukondalu strategically challenges the MLA and uses unconventional methods, including leveraging Shakeela’s films to tarnish the minister’s image.
This unexpected twist adds layers to the story, blending elements of action, social issues, and clever tactics employed by the protagonist. The climax of the film revolves around Yedukondalu’s intellectual triumph over the minister and his ability to garner widespread support. Through his shrewd maneuvers, Yedukondalu not only outwits the corrupt politician but also earns a commendable reputation in the process.
“Veede” is a tale of resilience, resourcefulness, and the pursuit of justice in the face of systemic corruption. The film not only showcases Ravi Teja’s prowess as an actor but also incorporates elements of romance and humor, making it a comprehensive cinematic experience for the audience. The inclusion of social issues and the protagonist’s clever use of media contribute to the film’s thematic richness, offering a well-rounded narrative that entertains and resonates with viewers.
