TheatreSankeertana is a 1987 Telugu movie that was directed by Geetha Krishna and produced by M. Gangaiah under the Konark Movie Creations label. Ilaiyaraaja wrote the music for the film, which stars Nagarjuna and Ramya Krishna.
It was made available on March 20, 1987. The movie was dubbed as En Paadal Unakkaga in Tamil. The movie was given a partly Tamil adaptation, called Deiva Vaakku.
Plot
An orphan named Keerthana is being raised by a peasant whose wife despises her greatly. Keerthana is taking dancing lessons from the village’s well-known instructor. During this process, she develops feelings for Kaasi, a member of a very low caste. Keerthana lost her personal life since the people think she is the goddess who came to save them and their village.
However, she now ventured to fall in love with Kaasi and desired to wed him. However, will the villagers consent to their goddess taking a husband, and what terrible repercussions did Keerthana and Kaasi have to endure?
