Anil Malnad

Biography:

Anil Malnad, an Indian editor who worked on more than 200 Telugu, Tamil, and Odia films, was born on October 12, 1957, and passed away on March 19, 2018. For the Telugu film Sitaara (1984), he was awarded the National Film Award for Best Editing.

In Malnad, Karnataka, India, G. R. Dattatreya was born. In 1971, he began working as an associate director in Bapu’s Telugu film Sampoorna Ramayanam. Later on, he turned to editing, and his first project as an editor was Bapu’s Vamsa Vruksham (1980).

Malnad resided in Chennai’s Chromepet with his family. He passed away on March 19, 2018, at the age of 66, in a private hospital in Chennai. He had been admitted following a heart attack.
