A.V. Dhamodaran (also known as Dhamu), a retired Indian actor, comedian, and mimicry artist, garnered recognition primarily for his appearances in Tamil cinema, with his standout role being Otteri Nari in the 2004 hit movie, “Ghilli.” He was an integral part of the renowned Gaana Galata Group, a widely acclaimed comedy troupe that toured and performed comedic acts. Following his retirement from mainstream acting, Dhamu shifted his focus and established ‘Tamarai Bharani Comedy Agency,’ an agency dedicated to representing comedy shows.

Furthermore, he ventured into television by hosting the program “Kalakkal Comedy” on Sun TV, showcasing his comedic talents to a broader audience. Notably, Dhamu also served as an assistant to the former Indian President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam for a notable seven-year period. Beyond his entertainment career, he actively advocated for children’s education.
