Taapsee Pannu, sometimes known as Tapasee Pannu, is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. She was born on August 1, 1987. She has won a number of honors, including a Filmfare OTT Award and two Filmfare Awards.
Pannu briefly worked as a model before making her acting debut in the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. She later appeared in the 2011 Tamil film Aadukalam. She made her Hindi cinema debut in 2013’s Chashme Baddoor, a comedy starring David Dhawan. Pannu gained attention for her roles in the critically acclaimed and financially successful Hindi spy films Baby (2015) and the courtroom drama Pink (2016) after portraying the leading lady in various Telugu and Tamil films.
She is also the owner of the badminton franchise Pune 7 Aces, which plays in the Premier Badminton League.
The war drama The Ghazi Attack (2017), the social drama Mulk (2018), the love drama Manmarziyaan (2018), the psychological thriller Badla (2019), and the space drama Mission Mangal (2019) all helped Pannu become well-known in Hindi film. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics) in 2019 for her portrayal of the elderly sniper Prakashi Tomar in the biopic Saand Ki Aankh, and in 2020 for her performance as a housewife going through a divorce in the social drama Thappad. Since then, she has acted in the streaming movies Looop Lapeta (2022), Rashmi Rocket (2021), and Haseen Dillruba (2021).
Pannu owns The Wedding Factory, an event planning business in addition to acting.
