Saguni

Story:

“Saguni” is a 2012 Indian political comedy film in the Tamil language. It was directed by Shankar Dayal and produced by S. R. Prabhu. The movie features Karthi and Pranitha in lead roles, with supporting appearances by Santhanam, Prakash Raj, Kiran Rathod, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raadhika Sarathkumar, and Nassar.

This film was also dubbed and released in Telugu as “Shakuni” in 2012 and in Hindi as “Rowdy Leader” in 2016. While it didn’t attain blockbuster status, “Saguni” was considered an average hit.

The film begins with the selection of Satyamoorthy as the new Chief Minister for the IRP party. However, a political plot orchestrated by the influential minister, Boopathi, accuses Satyamoorthy of a scandalous act, leading to his family’s tragic suicide.

Boopathi seizes the opportunity, wins the by-election, and becomes the Chief Minister. Kamalakannan, a humble farmer and free-meal service provider, arrives in the city to prevent a railway project from taking his ancestral land.

He later discovers Boopathi’s involvement in the corrupt project. Kamal transforms into a political strategist, helps elect a new Chief Minister, exposes Boopathi’s misdeeds, saves his property, and reunites with his love, Sridevi.
