Story:

Paiyaa is a Tamil-language action-adventure film directed by N. Linguswamy and produced by N. Subash Chandra Bose under the banner Thirupathi Brothers. The film features Karthi and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles, with Milind Soman, Jagan, and Sonia Deepti in supporting roles. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the cinematography and editing were handled by Madhi and Anthony, respectively.

After an extended pre-production phase, which saw significant changes in the main cast and technical crew, filming began in December 2008 at various locations across South India, particularly in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

The story centers on Shiva, an unemployed graduate who falls in love with Charulatha. When Charulatha asks him to drive her to Mumbai, they find themselves pursued by two different gangs for different reasons.

“Paiyaa” was released on 2 April 2010 to positive reviews from critics and became a box office success. The Telugu version, titled “Awara,” was released on 21 May 2010. The film was later remade in Bengali as “Jaaneman” and in Kannada as “Ajith.”
