Brinda Sarathy is an Indian filmmaker known for directing, screenwriting, and writing dialogue, as well as being a poet. Sarathy began his film career as an associate director and dialogue writer for N. Linguswamy’s debut film “Aanandham.” Although they did not collaborate on Linguswamy’s subsequent films, Sarathy continued his career as an independent director. His Tamil directorial debut, “Thithikudhe” (2003), was a remake of the 2001 Telugu film “Manasantha Nuvve” and featured Jiiva and Sridevi Vijaykumar in the lead roles, with Shrutika in a significant supporting role. While the film achieved moderate success at the box office, Sarathy’s next project, also starring Jiiva, was shelved for undisclosed reasons and did not proceed. After a hiatus, he reunited with Linguswamy as a dialogue writer for the romantic-action film “Paiyaa” in 2010. In addition to his film work, Sarathy has also authored books of poetry.
