Idhayam Murali

Story:

Aakash Baskaran is the director, co-writer, and producer of the 2026 Indian Tamil-language coming-of-age romance drama film Idhayam Murali (translated as “Heart Murali,” also marketed as “Idhayam Murali – The One Side”), which is distributed by Dawn Pictures. In addition to Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar, and Pragya Nagra, the film features Atharvaa in the title role, Kayadu Lohar, and Preity Mukhundhan. A brief appearance is made by Fahadh Faasil. Aakash is making his directorial debut, and Thaman is making his acting comeback after a 22-year hiatus.

In February 2025, the movie was formally announced. The preceding May saw the start of principal photography. Thaman wrote the soundtrack for the movie, Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai handled the cinematography, while Pradeep E. Ragav handled the editing. On July 10, 2026, Idhayam Murali is slated to open in theaters.
