Biography:

Jonita Gandhi is a talented singer born into a Punjabi family in Delhi, India. When she was just nine months old, her family moved to Brampton, Canada, where she grew up. She later settled in Mississauga. Jonita studied at Turner Fenton Secondary School and then pursued degrees in health science and business at the Ivey Business School of the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 2012.

Her love for music blossomed at an early age, influenced by her father and brother, who were part-time musicians. They often performed cover songs together at local events. At 16, she auditioned for Canadian Idol, though she didn’t progress in the competition. She started posting cover songs on YouTube, which gained immense popularity. Her covers of Hindi-film songs went viral, including tracks like “Pani Da Rang,” “Tum Hi Ho,” and “Yeh Honsla.”
