Dookudu

Story:

Dookudu is a 2011 Indian Telugu-language action drama film that was written by Srinu Vaitla, Kona Venkat, and Gopimohan and directed by Vaitla. Under the name 14 Reels Entertainment, Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Anil Sunkara produced it. The movie also features Brahmanandam in a supporting role, in addition to Mahesh Babu, Samantha, Prakash Raj, and Sonu Sood. After Prasad Murella quit the production in the middle, K. V. Guhan took over the cinematography while S. Thaman and M. R. Varma edited the movie.

Ajay Kumar (Babu), a police officer and the son of former MLA Shankar Narayana (Raj), awakens from a coma, but his health is still in danger. Kumar pretends to be a member of the Legislative Assembly to help his rehabilitation along with pursuing his father’s enemies and pursuing his father’s ambition. On June 28, 2010, the movie’s shooting in Hyderabad got underway. Turkish filming started on October 22, 2010, and it continued there through mid-September 2011. The majority of the movie was filmed in Hyderabad, but there were also scenes in Mumbai, Gujarat, Istanbul, Dubai, and Switzerland.

The movie premiered on 1800 theaters around the world on September 23, 2011. Dookudu earned favorable reviews after its debut and was dubbed a box office blockbuster. It was described as “The biggest hit you’ve never heard of” by the Los Angeles Times. The movie was the highest-grossing Telugu film of that year and the second-highest-grossing Telugu movie of all time with lifetime earnings of more than 101 crore and a distributor share of 57.4 crore. The movie also received numerous honors, including eight SIIMA Awards, seven Nandi Awards, six Filmfare Awards, and eight CineMAA Awards. The movie is adapted in Bengali (2012) as Challenge 2, and in Kannada (2014) as Power.
