Theatre“Asadhyudu,” meaning “Impossible Man,” stands as a 2006 Indian Telugu-language action film that marks the directorial debut of Anil Krishna. Under the production of Vallurupalli Ramesh Babu’s Maharishi Cinema banner, the movie features a cast including Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Diya, Chalapathi Rao, and Ravi Kale. Chakri composed the music, while Vikram Dharma took charge of choreographing the action sequences.
The narrative revolves around Pardhoo, a college student from Vizag, who refuses to stand idly by in the face of evil. Driven by an inability to tolerate injustice, he takes on a gang led by criminal brothers Prakash and Thambi based in Hyderabad. The genesis of the film’s script took place in Mumbai, where Anil Krishna conceived the idea. Impressed by a promo of Kalyan Ram’s film “Toli Choopulone,” Anil aspired to cast him in the lead role.
However, Kalyan Ram’s commitments to the film “Athanokkade” with director Surender Reddy initially posed a challenge. Undeterred, Anil Krishna explored various options, approaching actors like Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar and producer Medikonda Murali Krishna. Despite interest from these quarters, date constraints prevented collaboration.
It was back in Hyderabad that producer Vallurupalli Ramesh Babu proposed the idea of narrating the story to Kalyan Ram. The actor, after a brief one-and-a-half-hour narration, swiftly agreed to work with Anil Krishna. The film was initially titled “Parthu” after its protagonist, but subsequent revisions led to the adoption of the title “Asadhyudu.” The theatrical release of “Asadhyudu” took place on February 16, 2006, drawing acclaim for Kalyan Ram’s performance and the engaging action sequences.
Despite positive reviews, the film faced commercial challenges, falling short at the box office. The central character, Pardhoo (Nandamuri Kalyan Ram), emerges as a college student vehemently opposed to witnessing inequality. He takes on a formidable criminal gang in Hyderabad, led by the menacing brothers Prakash (Ravi Kale) and Thambi.
The storyline unfolds with Pardhoo’s unwavering determination to confront and combat the forces of injustice, making for a gripping narrative. “Asadhyudu” encapsulates Anil Krishna’s maiden directorial venture, combining elements of action, social justice, and a hero’s pursuit against criminal elements. Despite its commercial setback, the film stands as a testament to Kalyan Ram’s performance and the director’s ability to craft an engaging narrative.
