Diya is a former actress known for her appearances in Tamil language films. She was born into a Brahmin family in Hyderabad and later moved to Chennai with her family at the age of two. Alongside pursuing her passion for acting, Diya also honed her skills as a dancer through training at the Kalakshetra Foundation. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she managed to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology, complete a course in fashion technology, and even undertake a postgraduate program in computer science.
Diya’s entry into the world of acting began with her first lead role in Vishnuvardhan’s film “Kurumbu” in 2003. Following this, she took on a glamorous role opposite Dhanush in the film “Dreams” in 2004. However, her acting career took a turn in 2006 when she got married to software engineer Aravind. Subsequently, she decided to step away from several unreleased projects she had committed to, including “Seven,” “Sooravali,” and “Century Raagam,” effectively bringing her acting career to a close.
