Theatre“Aadu” is a 2015 Indian slapstick comedy film directed and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas. It’s an adaptation of Guy Richie’s “Snatch,” where the storyline involving a dog and diamond was replaced with a goat and “Neela Koduveli.” Produced and distributed by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas through Friday Film House, the movie features an ensemble cast including Jayasurya, Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, Vinayakan, Saiju Kurup, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vineeth Mohan, Bhagath Manuel, Renji Panicker, Sandra Thomas, Chemban Vinod Jose, Indrans, Bijukuttan, and Harikrishnan.
Released in India on February 6, 2015, “Aadu” initially received a mixed response and didn’t perform well at the box office. However, after its DVD release, the film garnered positive feedback and eventually gained a cult following. The success led to a sequel, “Aadu 2,” released in 2017, with a third installment, “Aadu 3,” announced for release in 3D format.
Due to its growing popularity, “Aadu” was re-released in Kerala on March 16, 2018, further cementing its status as a cult favorite among audiences.
