Theatre“Samba,” a 2004 Indian Telugu-language action film, directed by V. V. Vinayak and produced by Kodali Nani, features an ensemble cast including Jr. NTR, Bhumika Chawla, Genelia D’Souza, and Prakash Raj, with supporting roles played by Vijayakumar, Ali, Sithara, Sukumari, Sukanya, and Brahmaji. The story revolves around Dharmayya Naidu, an underworld kingpin who lost his wife due to his lack of education. To honor her memory and promote education in his Seema region, he plans to build schools. However, when he discovers valuable granite deposits in his quarry, he is manipulated by his son-in-law, Pasupathi, who cunningly secures the quarry as dowry, leading to Dharmayya Naidu’s daughter tragically taking her own life.
Upon learning the truth behind his sister’s suicide, Samba, Dharmayya Naidu’s son, takes matters into his own hands. He seizes control of the quarry and eliminates Pasupathi’s brothers. In retaliation, Pasupathi ruthlessly slaughters everyone in Samba’s household. Both Samba and Pasupathi are banned from entering Andhra Pradesh for a year, forcing them to seek refuge in Kanchi and Amritsar, respectively.
In Kanchi, Samba rebuilds his life, becoming a successful sari manufacturer and trader. The remainder of the film unfolds as Samba plots his return to Seema, seeking vengeance against Pasupathi and dedicating himself to the cause of education, ultimately fulfilling his father’s unfulfilled dream.This tale of revenge, family honor, and the pursuit of education weaves a gripping narrative that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish.
