Biography:

V. V. Vinayak has worked on multiple films in a variety of capacities, including as a director, script director, writer, and actor. He is regarded as one of Tollywood’s most esteemed directors and is well known throughout the sector. He made his Bollywood debut in 2023 with the movie Chatrapathi, which he also directed. He is credited with being one of the first filmmakers to include automobile flip scenes in his films. He has had a profound love of movies since he was a child and has spent a lot of time viewing movies at his father’s theatre.

He was able to convince his father to let him move to Chennai and pursue a career in filmmaking after completing his education. Later, he worked with director Sagar and provided content for a number of films, including the 1995 feature Amma Donga. In 2000, he worked as S. V. Krishna Reddy’s assistant on the movie Sakutumba Saparivara Sametam. He collaborated with filmmaker Kranthi Kumar in 2000 on the movie 9 Nelalu.

V. V. Vinayak  got the chance to collaborate as co-director with Bellamkonda Suresh on the movie Varma Garu Bewarse Gaadu, for which he was paid Rs 10,000;  the project was ultimately abandoned. However, Vinayak’s talent immensely impressed Suresh, who pledged to help him in his future goal of becoming a director. He then met movie producer Nallamalupu Bujji, to whom he related a tale that had a profound impact on Bujji. Bujji organised a shoot in Switzerland to film songs for his film Cheppalani Vundi after being moved by Vinayak’s tale. Vinayak got the chance to get to know N. T. Rama Rao Jr. while working on this project, and he ultimately ended up playing the lead role in Vinayak’s feature film debut. NTR had planned to listen to Vinayak’s story for 20 minutes, but he ended up listening for 1.5 hours because he was so engrossed.

N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Keerthi Chawla played important roles in his action drama debut film Aadi, which he also directed and wrote. The film was a huge hit at the box office, and Vinayak’s remarkable directing skills were praised by critics. In under 48 hours, he penned the complete script for his debut movie, Aadi. Intriguingly, Vinay rather than his full name V. V. Vinayak was used in the film’s credits. When he began using his full name, it caused some difficulty among those who were unable to identify him. The movie, which was originally called Sree, was finished in a remarkable 54 days. He went on to direct a number of popular films, including Bunny in 2005, starring Allu Arjun, Lakshmi in 2006, starring Venkatesh, Yogi in 2007, starring Prabhas and Nayanthara, Krishna in 2010, starring Ravi Teja and Trishia, Adhurs in 2010, with N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Naayak in 2010, starring Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal

Bellamkonda Sreenivas, the son of famed cinema producer Bellamkonda Suresh, who had earlier produced Vinayak’s first film as a filmmaker, Aadi, made his directorial debut in the 2014 film Alludu Seenu, which he also produced. He made his acting debut in the 2003 movie Tagore, in which he appeared as the cameo character Gopi. He was supposed to play the lead in the Dil Raju-directed film Seenayya when it was first announced in 2019, however the production was later shelved. He has largely made cameo roles during his career in a number of films.
