Story:

Raja Rani is an Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy-drama film, marking Atlee’s directorial debut. Produced by AR Murugadoss, the movie features Arya, Jai, Nayanthara, and Nazriya Nazim in lead roles, with Sathyaraj, Santhanam, and Sathyan in supporting roles. G. V. Prakash Kumar composed the film’s soundtrack.

The narrative revolves around John and Regina, initially at odds with each other, who are compelled into marriage and confront numerous challenges in their relationship. However, their lives take an unexpected turn following a sudden tragedy.

The film premiered on September 27, 2013, receiving positive feedback from audiences and critics alike. It debuted across 350 screens in Tamil Nadu, amassing approximately ₹32 million on its opening day, Arya’s highest-ever opening. By the end of the opening weekend, the film had garnered a collection of around ₹122 million across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. Overseas, it earned an estimated ₹50 million within the first weekend. Raja Rani proved to be a massive success.
