Story:

Premam is a romantic drama Telugu-language Indian film Chandoo Mondeti is the co-writer and director for the film. This is a remake of the same-titled Malayalam film from 2015. Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameswaran play their original roles, while Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan play Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi, respectively, in the original. In cameo roles are Venkatesh and Nagarjuna. The story follows Vikram and his friends as they grow from teenagers to adults.

Plot
Beginning in the year 2000, Vikram (Naga Chaitanya) is portrayed as a modest and reserved young man who is in love with Suma (Anupama Parameswaran). Unfortunately for Vicky, Suma is also adored by all the other boys in the vicinity. Vikram makes a last-ditch effort to write Suma a love letter, but her strict military father (Prudhviraj) prevents him from giving it to her.

Later, he delivers the letter to his neighbor, a young girl who is frequently spotted hanging around Suma. Suma soon begins to get to know Vicky better and even pays him a visit at his house. He is startled to discover, though, that she is already in love with another man and that Vicky was merely trying to help her get in touch with him.

Vicky shows his love for Suma by helping her whenever she needs it, even though his friends and family try to convince him that she is just using him to get what she wants. In his later years, around 2005, Vicky is a troublemaking thug in college who frequently gets into arguments with his friends Vasu (Praveen) and Siva (Chaitanya Krishna).

They were suspended for two months after defeating their rival group, which was led by Arjun (Noel Sean), but they returned to the college and immediately began ragging, taking advantage of a Marathi-Tamil lecturer named Sithara (Shruti Hassan) and accusing her of being a student. After learning that they had been drinking alcohol in class, she initially lets them go but then punishes them. Vikram starts to develop feelings for Sithara.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to assist lecturer Kantha Rao (Narra Srinu) in expressing his love for Sithara, the P.E. coach (Brahmaji) fails. Vikram deceives them both before gradually approaching Sithara. He even starts making phone calls to her later. But when Sithara’s cousin Sanjay (Arvind Krishna) appears and shows how close to her he is, he becomes afraid.

Sithara tries to get closer to him after realizing he is feeling envious, and eventually he reciprocates. They both come to the realization that they are in love with one another after spending Gudi Padva together. Vicky and his friends attend their yearly day functions in hopes of finding a good choreographer for their dance performance, but they are unsuccessful.

Sithara offers to assist them and they win the dance competition, revealing that she is a state-level dancer. Sithara is soon compelled to return to her hometown for a month-long leave of absence. But a month later, it comes to light that she was forced to leave the college due to an accident that left her amnesic. Along with his friends, Vikram departs for her hometown, but even after he shows her the bracelet she made especially for him, she still doesn’t recognise him, which breaks his heart.

Eleven years later, in 2016, Vicky is among Hyderabad’s best chefs, but she is regrettably still unmarried and has depressing flashbacks of Sithara. He spends time with E.K. (Srinivasa Reddy), the manager of his restaurant. He meets Sindhu (Madonna Sebastian) one evening; she tells him that she is the young girl he asked to deliver Suma’s letter, but she didn’t deliver it—rather, she read it.

After initially considering it impolite, Vikram shows her forgiveness, spends time getting to know her, and ultimately falls in love. After becoming friends with Arjun at the latter’s bachelor party, he decides to pop the question to her right away at his friends’ advice. But when she tells him that she was previously engaged, Vicky becomes extremely upset.

When he finally gives her an opportunity to talk after rejecting her for days, she tells him that her fiancé, Ravi, drugged her, which led to the annulment of their marriage. Ravi curses at Vicky after he tries to talk to him on the phone, which makes him and his friends attack Ravi. Sindhu and Vicky tie the knot. Vasu extends an invitation to Sithara and her current spouse Sanjay, who comes to meet them at Sindhu’s request.

She remembers the dessert Vicky made her for Gudipadava after seeing a special Shrikhand dessert there, which revives her memory. She chooses not to tell him anything though, realizing he is better off without her. An astrologer’s prediction that his future wife would have a name beginning with S is revealed in a post-credits scene as the reason behind Vicky’s restaurant’s moniker, S-Star. Vicky looks back on the last sixteen years of his life and remembers that every girl he loved had a name that began with the letter S.
