Anupama Parameswaran, born on February 18, 1996, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil cinema. She made her entry into the film industry with a supporting role in the Malayalam coming-of-age movie “Premam” (2015), which went on to become a major success. Her notable contributions encompass films such as “A Aa” (2016), “Sathamanam Bhavati” (2017), “Hello Guru Prema Kosame” (2018), “Maniyarayile Ashokan” (2020), “Kurup” (2021), and “Karthikeya 2” (2022).
Anupama Parameswaran was born to the Malayali family of Parameswaran Erekkath and Sunitha Parameswaran in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur district, Kerala, on February 18, 1996. She has a younger brother named Akshay. She pursued studies at CMS College Kottayam, Kerala, majoring in Communicative English, until she decided to halt her education and pursue a career in acting.
Commencing her career with “Premam,” in which she shared the screen with Nivin Pauly, Anupama Parameswaran tasted commercial success. She subsequently made a cameo appearance in the Malayalam film “James & Alice.” Transitioning into the Telugu film domain, she undertook several projects including “A Aa,” where she played a lead role alongside Nithiin and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
She also participated in the Telugu adaptation of “Premam.” Her venture into Tamil cinema began with “Kodi,” where she played the lead opposite Dhanush. Notably, she starred alongside Sharwanand in the Telugu film “Shatamanam Bhavati,” which premiered in January 2017. Additionally, her role in “Jomonte Suvisheshangal” opposite Dulquer Salmaan, also released in the same month, garnered attention.
She followed this with “Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi” opposite Ram Pothineni, and subsequently worked with Nani in Merlapaka Gandhi’s “Krishnarjuna Yudham,” and Sai Dharam Tej in A. Karunakaran’s “Tej I Love You.” Another notable role came alongside Ram Pothineni in “Hello Guru Prema Kosame.” In 2019, she made her debut in Kannada cinema with “Natasaarvabhowma,” starring alongside Puneeth Rajkumar. She later appeared in the Telugu film “Rakshasudu.”
In 2021, she shared the screen with Atharvaa in the Tamil film “Thalli Pogathey.” In 2022, she starred alongside debutant Ashish in the Telugu film “Rowdy Boys.” She also appeared in her second Telugu film of the year, “Karthikeya 2,” serving as a sequel to “Karthikeya” (2014).
