Chandoo Mondeti

Biography:

Chandoo Mondeti was born in Vemuluru, close to Kovvur in Andhra Pradesh. 2014 saw him make his feature film debut with Karthikeya. Nikhil Siddhartha and Swathi Reddy played the main parts in this mystery-thriller movie. In the movie, a curious doctor named Karthik explores the mystery surrounding a closed Karthikeya temple in the Subrahmanyapuram village.

Written by Chandoo Mondeti, the story of Karthikeya was inspired by an incident that took place at the Talupulamma Temple in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh. Upon its October 24, 2014, Diwali release, the film garnered favorable reviews from critics and grossed over ₹20 crore, despite having a budget of ₹4-6 crore. Then, in 2016, he directed Premam, a remake of the same-titled Malayalam film from 2015. The movie was a commercial hit.

Subsequently, he directed the poorly received film Savyasachi (2018), which starred Naga Chaitanya and Madhavan (in his Telugu debut)
Subsequently, he directed the crime drama Bloody Mary (2022), which features Kireeti Damaraju, Brahmaji, Ajay, and Nivetha Pethuraj. The story, which is set in Visakhapatnam, centers on three orphaned childhood friends named Mary, Raju, and Basha who become involved in a murder investigation. On April 15, 2022, the movie was made available digitally on the Aha streaming platform.

In March 2020, a puja ceremony was held in Tirupati to officially launch his next project, Karthikeya 2, which is the sequel to Karthikeya. In addition to Europe’s Spain, Portugal, and Greece, filming was done in India, primarily in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. In key parts were Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and Anupam Kher. After receiving favorable reviews from critics, Karthikeya 2 was released on August 13, 2022, and it quickly became the highest grossing movie in Chandoo Mondeti’s career.
