Theatre“Kshemamga Velli Labhamga Randi” is a 2000 Telugu-language comedy film directed by Raja Vannem Reddy. The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Srikanth, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, Ramya Krishna, Roja, Preethi, and Kovai Sarala, with music composed by Vandemataram Srinivas. Produced by M. V. Lakshmi under the ML Art Movies banner and presented by Editor Mohan, the film is a remake of the Tamil movie “Viralukketha Veekkam” (1999). It hit the screens on February 4, 2000, and performed well at the box office.
The story revolves around three friends – Ravi, Rambabu, and Jambulingam – who work as mechanics in a car company. Their wives, Geetha, Janaki, and Subbalakshmi, struggle to make ends meet due to their husbands’ habits of spending recklessly and borrowing money from the ruthless office peon Bezawada.
Their lives take a turn when Baby, a supervisor in a garment company, and her considerate husband move into their neighborhood. The husbands are taken aback by the couple’s disciplined financial approach. Witnessing this, the wives decide to seek employment in Baby’s company, but their husbands object, believing that the wives should rely solely on them.
In a parallel plot, the trio’s promised yearly bonus is withheld by their employer, leading to a confrontation that results in their dismissal. Jambulingam turns to his childhood friend Appala Raju, a wealthy merchant in Bangalore, for a job. Unbeknownst to him, the job involves drug smuggling, and they end up facing a police raid.
Simultaneously, Bezawada exposes the extent of their debts to the wives, prompting them to take matters into their own hands and seek employment. This decision leads to misunderstandings and conflicts within the couples. Eventually, the wives are evicted from their homes, finding refuge with the kind-hearted Baby and her husband.
Meanwhile, Ravi’s daughter is diagnosed with a heart defect, requiring urgent treatment. With no other options, the trio approaches Appala Raju, who offers them a deal: in exchange for the money needed for the operation, they must smuggle ganja. However, they are caught in the act, leading to their arrest and mistreatment by the police.
In the end, they come to realize the errors of their ways, and with the support of their wives, they are bailed out of jail. This experience prompts them to commit to a more responsible and fulfilling life together.
