Indian filmmaker and producer Ramesh Behl was a member of the Behl Hindi cinema family. He created well-known, popular films including Kasme Vaade (1978) and The Train (1970). He was the director of Apne Apne (1987), Pukar (1983), and Jawaani (1984). He is the only director who has had R. D. Burman provide music for every one of his films. On January 5, 1990, he passed away.
Goldie Behl, Behl’s son, is a producer and director as well. His daughter Srishti Arya (“ Behl), who is married to Sameer Arya, the son of Sulbha and Ishan Arya, is a media executive and producer. She co-founded Rose Audiovisuals with her brother Goldie, served as the treasurer and vice president of the Producers Guild of India, was a core member of the Indian Film and TV Producers Council, and led Netflix India until 2021. Additionally, he is the father of two daughters: chef Tania R. Behl and Shraddha Behl. Shukla, Ramesh’s sister, was wed to Rajendra Kumar.
