Biography:

Vega Tamotia, born on May 7, 1985, in Chhattisgarh, India, is an Indian actress and producer with credits in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu cinema. She is most notably recognized for her roles as Saroja in the eponymous film and Sobikannu in “Pasanga.” Prior to pursuing a career in film acting, Vega honed her skills by performing with a Broadway Drama Troupe, gaining valuable experience in the field of theatrical arts.

Vega has been involved in the production of several ventures, including the highly acclaimed children’s series “Ghotu Motu Ki Toli.” She served as the executive producer for the movie “Chittagong” and presently operates as the founder of Jump Across Films, a production company with a primary focus on crafting non-fiction content. Her series “All Access: Capital Police” was commissioned by Discovery and was broadcast in 2019.

Vega Tamotia’s journey into the entertainment world began with a deep-seated passion for theater during her formative years. Following her education, she ventured into professional theater in Mumbai, where she caught the attention of Swanand Kirkire, who cast her as the female lead in the Hindi musical “Aao Saathi Sapna Dekhein.” This performance earned her the META (Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Award) for Best Ensemble in 2009.

Her entry into the Indian film industry was marked by her role in the critically acclaimed Tamil film “Saroja.” Vega’s versatile acting skills led to roles in various films, including “Pasanga,” “Happy Happy Gaa,” and “Vaanam.” She also took on executive producer roles, notably for the award-winning “Chittagong.”

Her career continued to flourish with appearances in Hindi films like “Amit Sahni Ki List.” In 2019, she gained widespread recognition for her role in the popular series “Metro Park.”
