Sivabalan, popularly known as Appukutty, is an Indian actor and comedian renowned for his appearances in Tamil films. Originally from the village of Nathan Kinaru in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, he relocated to Chennai in 1994 in search of employment. Initially, he worked as a cleaner in hotels to make ends meet. It was during this time that his talent was noticed by individuals in the film industry, who began offering him acting opportunities. Appukutty started his career in the film industry by taking on small character roles, and for more than 17 years, he worked diligently in minor roles before achieving recognition.

In 2011, Sivabalan’s career took a significant turn when he gained widespread acclaim for his role in Suseenthiran’s film “Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu.” This marked the beginning of his rise in the industry.
