Gabriela Bertante

Biography:

Brazilian actress and former model Gabriela Bertante has roles in movies from India. Her performances in the films Billa II (2012), Devudu Chesina Manushulu (2012), Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (2012), and Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya (2014) have made her well-known. Before moving to So Paulo to start a modeling career, Gabriela Bertante recalls working with her parents at their store in her hometown of Matias Barbosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, when she was just 17 years old.

While her brother Glelberson Lus Leopoldino Bertante has played professionally for a number of Brazilian teams, including Palmeiras, Bertante also took her football seriously and participated in local soccer competitions. She relocated to India in 2010, participated in Lakme Fashion Week, and was published in various magazines. MTV noticed her and hired her as a VJ for MTV Grind.

After meeting Puri Jagannadh in Mumbai, the director advised Gabriela that she should perform a test shoot. Gabriela accepted the director’s advice and traveled to Hyderabad to meet him. She then received an opportunity to dance for an item number with Ravi Teja in the movie Devudu Chesina Manushulu. In Bangkok, Thailand, she filmed the song.

The actress co-starred with Ajith Kumar in Chakri Toleti’s Tamil film Billa II. When she first met the director Chakri Toleti, he had promised her this part for a different film. The song, which Yuvan Shankar Raja composed, was picturized in Goa and a Mumbai studio. Alongside Mika Singh and Shaan, she made her Bollywood debut in the film “Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya”. The film premiered on September 19, 2014.
