Curry Barker

Biography:

Curry Barker is an American comedian, actor, and filmmaker. He is generally associated with the internet sketch comedy duo That’s a Bad Idea alongside Cooper Tomlinson. He was the director of the horror movie Obsession. Barker most frequently collaborates with Cooper Tomlinson as a member of That’s a Bad Idea, a sketch comedy team best known for their short horror and comic videos on YouTube. The pair signed a representation contract with United Talent Agency in early 2025 after their found footage horror film Milk & Serial went viral in 2024.

The horror movie Obsession, which Barker directed in 2024, was the first runner-up for the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness and debuted on September 5, 2025, in the Midnight Madness block at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. Two days later, Focus Features reportedly started exclusive negotiations to pay over $15 million for the worldwide distribution rights of the movie, with the exception of France, New Zealand, and Russia. The agreement was formally finalized in October 2025. The addition of Jason Blum and Blumhouse Productions to the movie was announced in December 2025.
