Indian actor Ramachandran Durairaj has acted in Tamil-language movies. He began his acting career with a leading role in Suseenthiran’s Naan Mahaan Alla (2010) after working as an associate director. He then received praise for his performance as the lead in Gopi Nainar’s Aramm (2017).
In addition to his day job, Ramachandran relocated to Chennai from Theni in 2000 and had a strong interest in photography. He got to know the director S. R. Prabhakaran, and as a result of their friendship, he developed interest in being a cameraman for Tamil movies. However, he first worked as an associate director on the television show Kolangal before using his network to land actor jobs in movies.
Prior to playing a significant role as an antagonist in Suseenthiran’s Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), he briefly served as Vijay Milton’s assistant cameraman in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009). Ramachandran made two films in 2014 that attracted notice to him. Both H. Vinoth’s Sathuranga Vettai and Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda featured the actor as a henchman who shies away from his aggressive nature.
Because of his acquaintance with the director Gopi Nainar, he was given a role in the 2017 social drama Aramm, which starred Nayanthara. Alongside actress Sunu Lakshmi, Ramachandran played the secondary lead role of a farmer whose daughter becomes trapped in an unlined well. The movie received favorable reviews, and Ramachandran received praise for his portrayal.
