Biography:

Devi Prasad is a multifaceted Indian talent known for his contributions to the Telugu film industry. He initially embarked on his career as a director, with a particular reputation for his comedy films, including “Mr. Pellikodukku” and “Kevvu Keka.” Hailing from a middle-class background in Kanagala village within the Rapalle region of Guntur, his childhood dream was to be a part of the film industry. Early on, he expressed his desire to become a theater operator to indulge in a daily dose of movies. Devi Prasad commenced his journey in the film world as an Assistant Director under the guidance of Kodi Ramakrishna. Despite facing challenges, his unwavering passion for cinema propelled him forward.

Devi Prasad’s directorial career officially began in 2002 with the comedy film “Aaduthu Paaduthu,” starring Sunil and Srikanth, a remake of the Malayalam movie “Ee Parakkum Thalika.” Following this success, he delved into action with films like “Mumbai Ka Gunda” and “Leelamahal Centre,” featuring Aryan Rajesh as the lead. However, he later shifted his focus to comedy, directing movies like “Blade Babji” and “Kevvu Keka,” both starring Allari Naresh. In 2013, Devi Prasad directed “Mr. Pellikoduku,” an official remake of the Hindi film “Tanu Weds Manu,” with Telugu actor Sunil taking on the lead role.

In 2018, Devi Prasad made a return to the industry, not as a director, but as an actor. He appeared in various films, including “Needi Naadi Oke Katha,” “NTR Kathanayakudu,” and “Rajdooth.” Beyond his roles in directing and acting, Devi Prasad is also a talented artist, nurturing his passion for drawing inspired by movie posters. His journey continues with his involvement in the thriller film “Naandhi” alongside Allari Naresh, eagerly awaiting its release in December 2020.
