Suraj Venjaramoodu

Biography:

Suraj Vasudevan, whose real name is Suraj Venjaramoodu, was born on June 30, 1976. He works as an impressionist, comedian, actor, and television host. He has appeared in stage plays, television shows, and Malayalam movies. His acting career spans over 250 movies. He has received four Kerala State Film Awards and one National Film Award.

He starred in many humorous parts in movies during the 2000s and into the mid-2010s, and he was the recipient of three Kerala State Film Awards for Best Comedian (2009, 2010, 2013). He was successful in starring and character roles in his latter career. Due to his performance as the lead in Perariyathavar, Suraj was awarded the 2013 National Film Award for Best Actor. He was the recipient of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2019 for Vikruthi and Android Kunjappan Version 5.25.

The youngest of Venjaramood K. Vasudevan Nair’s three children, Suraj is the product of his marriage to Vilasini, a homemaker, and his former Indian Army soldier status. He went by “Kuttappan” with his parents and family. V. Saji, his older brother, was an Indian Army officer as well. Sunitha V. V., his sister, is settled in Thiruvananthapuram after being married.

After earning his secondary school leaving certificate, Suraj also intended to enlist in the Army, but he was forced to give it up after breaking his arm in a cycling accident. His elementary schooling was at K.V.M.L.P.S., Venjaramoodu. After completing his Mechanical diploma program at Government ITI, Attingal, he quickly began mimicking. His big break came from the comedy show Jagapoka, which Kairali TV aired.
