Vilayath Buddha

Story:

Jayan Nambiar is making his directorial debut with the upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action thriller Vilaayath Budha. The movie is based on G. R. Indugopan’s book of the same name. In collaboration with Anish M. Thomas, Sandip Senan is producing it under the name Urvasi Theatres. Priyamvada Krishnan, Anu Mohan, Rajashree, and Teejay Arunasalam assist Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shammi Thilakan in the lead roles. The main characters of the movie are Bhaskaran Master and Double Mohanan, a smuggler who is his protégé. They are at odds over who owns a sandalwood tree that the former planted.

Sachy started working on the novel’s film adaptation in 2020. But his associate Jayan Nambiar took over the project after his death in June of that same year. Officially announced in February 2021, Vilaayath Budha had substantial main photography in Marayur between October 2022 and March 2025. Jakes Bejoy wrote the music for the movie, Arvind S. Kashyap did the cinematography, and Sreejith Sarang edited it. The movie is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2025.
