An Indian filmmaker, director, and screenwriter by the name of Rasool Ellore. He has worked on numerous Bollywood and Telugu films. On October 8, 1964, Rasool was born in Rajahmundry, India. While his father was an electrical engineer, his mother was a teacher in Rajahmundry. Since his mother was a teacher, he had a lot of exposure to motivational texts growing up. He used to order weekly publications from publications like Time, National Geographic, Readers Digest, and others. Twice a week, his father would go to the movie theatre for technical work.
Every week, Rasool accompanied his father. Rasool made sure he never missed the English movies that were shown at the theatre once a week. Even though he came from a little village, he was greatly intrigued by the outside world and the expansive horizon of the future and evolving surroundings. He thinks that his exposure to books gave him the opportunity to develop a more expansive mentality. Rasool purchased a Rolleiflex camera when he was 16 and developed a liking for working with filmmakers. His sister was wed to renowned director S Gopal Reddy.
He went to him and requested an apprentice from him. He spent three years as Reddy’s first trainee before becoming the third assistant. He started working in films in 1985. Rasool was requested to handle the cinematography because Reddy was constrained by other crucial tasks. Jahnavi Ellore is his wife. He received an offer to star in the Chitti Babu-directed film “Raithu Bharatam” with Krishna. However, the project stalled halfway through. Before becoming a director, Ram Gopal Varma, a well-known Hindi film director, was friends with Rasool.
Ram requested that he serve as his assistant director for a specific film with him, but he declined the offer since he believed it to be unethical. Continue reading…After two to three days of labour, Rajiv Menon left. Rasool acquired steady cam skills and captured the chase scenes for the movie. Then, in 1993, he worked on the film “Gaayam” with Ram Gopal Varma. Films like Money Money (1995), Little Soldiers (1996), Gulabi (1996), Family Circus, Chitram, Jalsa, Kick, Shivam, Oosaravelli, and Neeku Naaku Dash Dash, among others, feature his cinematography.
His debut film as a filmmaker was “Okariki Okaru” in 2003. As a director, he has also worked on films like Bhageeratha and Sangamam. Other Hindi films he has worked on include Junoon, Daud, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Raat, and Aakhree Raasta. Gaayam and Nuvvu Nenu have both earned Rasool a Nandi Award for Best Cinematography. For Okariki Okaru, he was also awarded Best Debut Director at the 2003 Nandi Awards.
