Shammi Thilakan

Biography:

Shammi Thilakan, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, particularly in Malayalam cinema, is renowned for his acting and dubbing prowess. He comes from a cinematic background as the son of the legendary actor Thilakan. His contributions as a dubbing artist include giving voice to notable characters like Napoleon in “Devasuram,” Prem Nazir in “Kadathanadan Ambadi,” and Nassar in “Ghazal.” His exceptional dubbing for the latter earned him a state award for the best dubbing artist category.

Shammi Thilakan’s versatility is evident in his acting career, where he has taken on a variety of roles, ranging from antagonists to comic characters and intricate personas. His educational foundation was laid at NSS High School in Thadiyoor, Pathanamthitta. At a young age of 15, he embarked on his journey as a theater artist, affiliating with theater troupes such as PJ Theaters, Rashmi Theaters, Chalakudy Saradhi, Kalashala Thrippunithura, and Kollam Tuna. Notably, he directed his first play, titled “Fazah,” for Chalakudy Saradhi and went on to direct more than 25 productions.

In his personal life, Shammi Thilakan is married to Usha and is a father to a son named Abimanyu. He currently resides with his family in Kollam.
