Thimiru

Story:

Thimiru, which translates to “Arrogance,” is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language action movie produced by Vikram Krishna under the G K Film Corporation banner and directed by Tarun Gopi on his feature film debut. In addition to Vadivelu, Manoj K. Jayan, and former Indian football player I. M. Vijayan playing supporting roles, the film stars Vishal, Reema Sen, and Sriya Reddy in the key roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote both the soundtrack and the film’s score.

After its August 4, 2006 release, Thimiru went on to become one of the highest grossing Tamil movies of the year. Pogaru is the Telugu dubbing of the movie. Later, filmmaker Vishal Raj remade it as Minchu in Kannada, although it was not as successful as the first time around.

Plot

Ganesh travels to Chennai to complete his MBBS program after leaving Madurai. The daughter of Ganesh’s professor, Srimathy, longs to meet Ganesh and express her gratitude for saving her from the jaws of thugs. The fact that Ganesh and Srimathy already know one another surprises them when they first meet, and this reveals something about their past.

Past: Eswari is a haughty moneylender who targets families that don’t make their loan payments and charges them exorbitant interest rates. When Ganesh assists Srimathy’s parents in Eswari, Srimathy’s family encounters trouble. Eswari asks Ganesh to marry him after being moved by his courage, but he declines.

Ganesh foils Eswari’s schemes when she kidnaps his parents and threatens to accept her. Eswari kills Ganesh by accident after making a furious attempt. Periya Karuppu and Chinna Karuppu, the brothers of Eswari, decide to kill Ganesh since they believe he and Srimathy are to blame for their sister’s passing.

Present: Chinna Karuppu confronts Ganesh after learning that he and Srimathy are in Chennai. Chinna Karuppu, who falls from a building despite Ganesh’s best efforts to save him, is vanquished by Ganesh. Periya Karuppu confronts Ganesh and Srimathy; however, Ganesh vanquishes them and divulges his endeavors to preserve Eshwari and Chinna Karuppu, telling Periya Karuppu to change for the better. When Ganesh and Srimathy realize they are in love, they leave together with joy.
