Story:

“Super” is a Telugu-language heist action thriller released in 2005, written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Nagarjuna on the Annapurna Studios banner. The film stars Nagarjuna, Sonu Sood, Anushka Shetty, and Ayesha Takia, marking the debut of Anushka Shetty and Ayesha Takia in Telugu cinema. The music is composed by Sandeep Chowta, with cinematography by Shyam K. Naidu and editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film achieved an average gross at the box office. It was later dubbed in Tamil and Hindi as “Robbery.” The storyline revolves around Akhil, the owner of a call cab service, who falls in love with Dr. Srivalli alias Siri. However, Sonu, a hi-tech robber, reveals that he and Akhil were once best friends turned enemies. As Siri is in love with Akhil, Sonu asks her to end their relationship.

In an attempt to understand Sonu’s enmity, Siri visits Akhil’s house, uncovering a complex past. Akhil and Sonu, along with Sonu’s sister Sasha, struggled after graduation, turning to bank robberies to pay for Sasha’s surgery. Tragedy struck when Sasha was found dead, leading to Sonu blaming Akhil and ending their friendship. The narrative takes a turn when the police arrest Akhil, believing him to be involved in a video-surveillance-linked murder.

The artist drawing Sonu’s picture claims Akhil is not a thief. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Sasha was murdered, and Mama, the owner of the Biker’s Club, orchestrated the robberies. Mama kidnaps Siri, forcing Akhil and Sonu to rob diamonds in Mumbai. After a successful heist inspired by “The Italian Job,” Akhil and Sonu dive into the ocean to retrieve the diamonds, pursued by the police.

Sonu is shot but survives with a bulletproof vest. Akhil, not deterred by the shooting, heads to Mama’s location. In a final showdown, Akhil and Sonu confront Mama, rescue Siri, and eliminate all threats. The police captain, previously skeptical of the artist’s drawings, gets transferred. Akhil and Sonu give a diamond to the artist, instructing him to draw a picture of Akhil and Siri.
