Sachein

Story:

“Sachein” is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by John Mahendran and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. It’s a remake of Mahendran’s earlier Telugu film, “Neetho.” The movie stars Vijay in the lead role, supported by Genelia and Bipasha Basu. Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Raghuvaran also play significant roles. The film introduced Bipasha Basu to Tamil cinema and featured a score and soundtrack composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

The plot revolves around Sachein, a carefree college student who falls for Shalini, a beautiful and short-tempered girl from an upper-middle-class background. Initially, they have a playful rivalry, with Sachein teasing Shalini. However, their friendship develops when Sachein saves Shalini’s father from a bike accident. While Shalini misunderstands Sachein’s feelings initially, they eventually confess their love for each other. However, complications arise when Shalini learns about Sachein’s wealthy background, leading to a moment of hesitation in their relationship. Ultimately, love triumphs as Shalini overcomes her ego and proposes to Sachein at the Coimbatore International Airport.
