An action drama film in Telugu, Pushpa 2 (also called Pushpa 2: The Rule) is directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Sukumar Writings. Alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj, Allu Arjun plays the movie’s title character. It is the follow-up to the 2021 movie Pushpa: The Rise and the second installment in the Pushpa film series.
A few days before the first movie came out in December 2021, the sequel was formally revealed under the title Pushpa 2, and in August 2022, Pushpa 2: The Rule was added as a subtitle. Ten percent of the movie’s footage was first filmed consecutively with the original.
However, Sukumar changed the plot, and as a result, principal photography for the movie started in October 2022. Devi Sri Prasad wrote the film’s music, Mirosław Kuba Brożek handled the photography, and Naveen Nooli handled the editing. The film is among the most costly Indian productions, having been made on a budget of ₹400–500 crore.
On December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2: The Rule will be made available globally in conventional, 3D, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box, and ICE formats.
