Mr. Nookayya

Story:

“Mr. Nookayya,” a 2012 Telugu action-comedy, faced legal troubles upon release. Originally titled “Mr. Nokia,” the film was sued by the telecommunications company, forcing a re-edit and re-release as “Mr. Nookayya Re-loaded” just nine days later.

Nookayya, a skilled cell phone thief with a heart of gold, helps orphans with his friends. He’s hopelessly in love with Shilpa, a pub waitress, who desires a settled life before marriage. Driven by desperation to fulfill her dreams, Nookayya seeks quick riches.

Meanwhile, Anu, a newly married bank manager, faces turmoil when her husband, Kiran, gets kidnapped by a gang demanding a hefty ransom. Anu, determined to save him, secretly takes the ransom from the bank and escapes.

In a bizarre twist, Nookayya and Anu’s paths collide, leading to Charger taking the ransom money, as revealed later. Devastated by Shilpa’s betrayal and fueled by a desire to help Anu, Nookayya joins forces with her to rescue Kiran.

Through a series of twists and turns, they discover Kiran’s shocking secret: he orchestrated his own kidnapping for money, duping Anu into marrying him. In a climactic confrontation, Nookayya, severely injured by Kiran, witnesses his attempt to kill Anu. In a surge of rage, Nookayya eliminates Kiran, Shajahan, and their henchmen.

Anu returns the stolen money and develops a strong bond with Nookayya, offering him marriage. This unexpected turn leaves Nookayya on the path to redemption, finding solace and love after a tumultuous journey.
