Kriti Kharbanda was given the lead part in the Telugu movie Boni opposite Sumanth after appearing on the Spar billboard. Kharbanda received praise for Boni despite bad reviews. While Sify stated that “despite making her debut, Kriti was a wonderful pick and had no uncomfortable moments. Rediff.com stated, “Kriti Kharbanda looks young and attractive and manages to portray the character of Pragati in a rather convincing manner. Her looks are stunning and she has a lot of future if she plays her cards well. But in the future, she might need to focus on her facial expressions a little. Despite the movie’s box office failure, she was cast in a key part in Pawan Kalyan’s Teen Maar. However, her first Kannada film, Chirru, was her next to be released. The Times of India and Indiaglitz.com both praised her performance, commenting that she “excels in her performance” and “is very pretty and her expressions are good.” She “looks ravishing in song sequences” and “is good at dancing,” according to IANS. The movie was a success at the box office in 2010, and according to Kharbanda, it earned her fame and “a fair amount of admiration in the industry,” which led to her being offered a number of Kannada-language films. She did not sign for her second Kannada film, however, until October 2011, when she did so along with four other films in the same month.
Before Teen Maar was published in 2011, she was also featured in a guest role in the popular Telugu romance comedy Ala Modalaindi. She added that she also picked out the clothing and jewelry she wore in the movie Teen Maar. She had to “replicate heroines from the 1970s” in “retro scenes” in the movie. The movie ended up earning an average amount of money. The following year, she appeared in the Telugu films Prem Adda, a Kannada version of the Tamil film Subramaniapuram, and Mr. Nookayya with Manoj Manchu. Her role in the later movie was described as being “completely de-glam,” and the actress claimed that playing an 80s small-town girl made it difficult for her because of her pale skin. She referred to Girija as the most difficult character she had ever performed because the part required her to walk barefoot, wear no makeup, and become tanned. Together with her mother, she also created her outfits for the movie. In 2013, Kharbanda had four releases—two in Telugu and two in Kannada. Galaate was her very first release. According to the Times of India, Kriti gives her role life. Times of India stated that Kriti Kharbanda “looks cute and does a decent job of holding her own despite playing a character with little scope to do any acting” in her Telugu film, Bhaskar’s Ongole Githa, in which she starred alongside Ram Pothineni as a “typical town girl.” Both of her subsequent releases, Kalyan Ram’s Om 3D and the first 3D action movie in Telugu cinema, did poorly at the box office.
The romantic comedy Googly, in which Yash and she both starred, however, marked a turning point in her Kannada career. Critics praised her portrayal of a medical student. According to the Times of India, “Kriti Kharabanda has given life to her character.” Kharbanda received appreciation from Sify in particular, who called her “The heart and soul of the movie…who emerges triumphant on the big screen with some fine acting”.[30] After earning over 15 crores at the box office, the movie became one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of 2013. She claimed that following Googly, she received other offers, including two from Bollywood, which she was forced to decline since she needed to focus on filming her already-committed roles. The lone release by Kharbanda in 2020 was Taish, a feature film and six-episode television series by Bejoy Nambiar starring Jim Sarbh and Samrat. According to Bollywood Hungama, “Kriti Kharbanda looks gorgeous and puts on an impressive performance.” According to the Times of India, “Kriti Kharbanda, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Saloni Batra play three very different women who are each at a pivotal crossroads in their own lives. As Arfa, Kharbanda is the mediator of the irate gang and a hopeless romantic. She starred with Vikrant Massey in the 2021 ZEE5 film 14 Phere, which was directed by Devanshu Singh. According to The Quint, “Kriti Kharbanda as Aditi, has a very thinly written character sketch, but she manages to be charming throughout.” While Kriti’s screen presence is lovely, particularly in the bridal and ethnic attires, she falls short of Vikrant’s brilliant acting, according to the Times of India, which gave her mixed reviews. She makes a valiant effort to depict a daring and bold Jatni, but for the most part, she just maintains a poker look.
