TheatreJai Raaja Singh is the director of the 2019 Telugu-language medical thriller film Marshal from India. Megha Chowdhury, Abhay Adaka, and Srikanth feature in the movie.
Plot
A medical salesman named Abhi is a huge fan of “Super Star” Sivaji, much to the dismay of his friends, family, and coworkers. He tries, but he can’t seem to get a selfie with his favorite movie star. A facility that grossly underpays and mistreats surrogate moms while demanding exorbitant fees to couples seeking to conceive through surrogacy is revealed by journalist Megha.
A few criminals also abduct women for enigmatic medical experiments that result in failure and death. One day, Abhi gets promoted, takes on the role of area manager, and is tasked with giving beauty pills to pageant competitors. While traveling, he and the original group witness Megha being taken by another group of kidnappers.
The offenders escape despite assistance from his father, a police officer. Abhi is astonished to see the “victim” herself at the pageant after spotting the men who abducted Megha. When she confesses that it was all a joke, Abhi chastises her for being careless. He also declares his love to her after she spends some time with his family and she begins to fall for him.
Infertility-stricken Abhi’s sister visits a hospital for reproductive treatments, but while there, she undergoes the same experiment and becomes unconscious. Following a confrontation with a negligent physician, Abhi is taken into custody, and it is discovered that the women who took the tablets had nausea and fainted.
In an attempt to clear his identity, Abhi and his father look into where the drugs came from and discover that the hospital is connected to the number on the back. When they look into it, they discover that Sivaji, the doctor in charge, ordered all the ladies to participate as test subjects in a technique meant to reverse infertility.
This procedure has finally been successful for the first time. Abhi, along with his father, Megha, and his ethical hacker brother-in-law, band together to foil this plot. They bug the hospital and discover that Sivaji is orchestrating the kidnappings to create “designer babies” after conducting more research.
Upon questioning the chief physician, they learn that Sivaji has always been a sharp-witted, calculating man who pursues what he perceives as “advances” in science with ruthlessness. He began “Project Marshal” after learning that a certain kind of sterility in which eggs are not released is incurable, but his concepts were consistently turned down.
He had just lately been able to begin clinical trials to demonstrate his concept to Japanese medical authorities. His theories piqued the interest of Japanese policymakers, who sought confirmation before implementing them owing to the country’s demographic issue stemming from infertility brought on by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.
Sivaji runs away to Japan, but Megha records a video from their covert camera and publishes it. The officials inform Sivaji that he needs to make amends in order for his procedure to be approved. Despite the evidence, Sivaji escapes punishment by saying it was for a TV show and posts a jesting selfie with Abhi.
The case is protested by Sivaji’s supporters, who also begin to cause trouble for Abhi and throughout the city. Later on, Sivaji’s mother informs him that she was a surrogate mother when he was born, and this has had an impact on his attitude.
The following day, Sivaji phones Abhi and makes fun of him, telling him that he has to save a car that has a famous athlete inside in it from being attacked. Barely stopping the attackers, Abhi locates Sivaji’s fan club and enlists their assistance by pretending that Sivaji is in the car. He is shocked to see Sivaji get out of the vehicle.
Soon after his return, a guy shoots him without warning and flees. Sivaji confesses as he passes away that he gave the technique to the state as restitution for his wrongdoings. The “F-Club” members who wished to make money made the decision to murder him. At the end of the movie, Sivaji is praised for his medical advancements and Abhi’s sister gives birth.
