Priyadarshini Ram, an Indian advertising executive, actor, and Telugu filmmaker, hails from Kotha Patha Cheruvu, Gutthi, Anantapur district, but received his education in Bhilai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Nizam College in 1980 and secured admission to the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. However, he couldn’t pursue the course due to the untimely demise of his father, which required him to stay and support his mother.
During his college days, Ram had a strong passion for creative writing, which eventually led him into the field of advertising. He gained a significant opportunity when he was tasked with creating advertising campaigns for prominent national political leaders in various languages.
His advertising company received a buyout offer from the multinational advertising agency Grey America. Unfortunately, they had to decline the offer because it required relocating the firm to Mumbai, a move Ram couldn’t make as he needed to be with his mother. This decision caused him to miss out on potential opportunities, as Mumbai had always been the advertising hub of India.
In the late nineties, Ram made his debut in acting and directing with his own detective serial on Doordarshan’s Telugu channel.
