The storyline revolves around a wealthy businessman, Nageswara Rao (Nagarjuna), who endeavors to unite a young couple resembling his deceased parents. Simultaneously, the elderly Chaitanya (Nageswara Rao) strives to bring the businessman and a doctor together.
The intricate plot weaves a tapestry of love, mistakes, and the cyclical nature of life and death. Crafted with a budget of ₹28 crore ($4.6 million), the film enlisted the talents of Harsha Vardhan for dialogues, Anup Rubens for music, P. S. Vinod for cinematography, and Prawin Pudi for editing. Commencing production on June 3, 2013, the film underwent principal photography in various locations, including Hyderabad, Coorg, and Mysore, concluding in mid-April 2014.

The narrative intricately intertwines the lives of Radha Mohan, Krishna Veni, and their son, Nageswara Rao. A couple initially in love, Radha Mohan, and Krishna Veni, face marital challenges leading to their tragic demise in a car accident in 1983. Fast forward 30 years, Nageswara Rao, their son, emerges as a wealthy businessman. The plot thickens as he encounters lookalikes of his parents, Nagarjuna and Priya, setting in motion a series of events to reunite them.
The film delves into the past lives of Seetharamudu and Ramalakshmi, whose love story unfolds in 1924. With clever twists of fate, Chaitanya, their son in the present, strives to reunite his parents, knowing the pain of their separation in the past. Chaitanya’s efforts unfold in a modern setting, with Nagarjuna and Priya navigating complex relationships. The intricate storytelling crescendos as the characters converge near a clock tower, where past and present collide.
A near-tragedy is averted through the intervention of a mysterious biker, providing a riveting climax to the narrative. “Manam” received global recognition, earning a screening at the 45th International Film Festival of India in the Homage to ANR section. The film’s accolades include five Filmfare Awards South, a testament to its excellence in the Telugu film category.
