Lakshya

Story:

“Lakshya” (translated as “Target”) is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language sports drama film written and directed by Dheerendra Santhossh Jagarlapudi. It is produced by Sri Venkateswara Cinemas and Northstar Entertainment and features Naga Shaurya, Jagapathi Babu, Ketika Sharma, and Sachin Khedekar in its cast. The film was released on December 10, 2021.

Plot

Pardhu has been a talented archer since childhood, and his grandfather recognizes this, sacrificing his earnings to enroll Pardhu in Hyderabad’s top archery academy. Pardhu’s exceptional skills lead him to become the state champion, and he falls in love with Rithika. However, tragedy strikes when his grandfather passes away, sending Pardhu into a downward spiral of depression and drug addiction. He eventually realizes that someone deliberately led him to drugs through his friends, leading to a confrontation where he is injured.

Despite his injuries, Pardhu manages to reach the stadium for the finals but collapses. He is then suspended from the sport due to rumors of doping, and his relationship with Rithika ends after a conflict with her father. With nothing left, Pardhu turns to alcohol until Parthasaradhi, his father’s friend, steps in to support and motivate him.

Pardhu dedicates himself to training, hoping for a recovery of his injured hand. Although he learns that his hand will never fully heal, Parthasaradhi encourages him to focus on his other hand’s potential. With renewed determination, Pardhu reconciles with Rithika and sets his sights on the World Championships. Despite the setback, Pardhu convinces the board to allow him to compete using his left hand. He triumphs in the championship, fulfilling his grandfather’s dream and proving his resilience.
