Narayan Das Narang (July 27, 1946 – April 19, 2022) served as the President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce from 2019 to 2022. Additionally, he was the head of Asian Multiplex and Asian Theatres. Known not only as a film producer but also as a financier and distributor, he was involved in financing and distributing over 650 films.
Originally from the regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, Narayan Das Narang’s family migrated to India after the country’s partition, settling first in Mumbai and later moving to Hyderabad in the 1950s. He was born to Kanyalal Narang and Lilavati Narang and had three brothers and three sisters. Narayan Das was married to Sunita and had three children: Sunil Narang, Bharat, and Mona.
Narayan Das Narang passed away at the age of 76 on April 19, 2022, in Hyderabad after battling severe illness. At the time of his death, he was involved in the production of “Ghost” with Nagarjuna and “Saar” with Dhanush, as well as around ten other films. Previously, he had produced films like “Love Story” and “Lakshya” under his Sri Venkateswara Cinemas banner.
