Story:

Pulkit is the writer and director of the 2026 Indian Hindi-language crime drama film Kartavya, which translates to “Duty.” Gauri Khan is producing the movie under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner. Saif Ali Khan, Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, and Saurabh Dwivedi make guest appearances. Netflix formally revealed the movie on February 3, 2026. On May 15, 2026, it was made available.

One day, Inspector Pawan Malik, a police inspector in the made-up little town of Jhamli, is assigned to guard a journalist. Two shooters on bikes ambush them as they are accompanying the journalist, who is in a different car. The journalist and one of the shooters are murdered in the ensuing gunfight, while the other shooter manages to flee. According to investigations, a 16-year-old boy named Harpal is the escaped gunman. Anand Shri, a local spiritual guru, gave him the order to carry out the shooting. Harpal escapes Anand Shri’s men’s attempts to quiet him in order to keep him from telling the police about the journalist’s murderous scheme.

After Harpal is taken into custody by the police, Pawan recognizes that he is merely a pawn and a youngster and feels sorry for him. He assures Harpal that he will protect him. Because both of their families are against their intercaste relationship, Pawan’s brother Deepak, who is in love with Preeti, a woman from a different caste, elopes with her and secretly marries her. Both the dads and the local panchayat become enraged by this and plan to honor kill Deepak and Preeti. Deepak and Preeti are taken to a safehouse by Pawan, who instructs them to hide for a few days before vanishing. Whether Pawan can protect Harpal, his brother Deepak, and his wife Preeti is at the center of the story.
