Plot
Jeeva shares his name with two other people: one villain and one police officer Jeevanandham who becomes a villain. The confusion arising from this is a significant part of the plot.
At the age of nine, Jeeva’s grandmother Karuppayi Aatha slays five men because they scorned her father’s advice and illegally distilled alcohol in the village. After her return from prison, the villagers both fear and revere her, and consider her the head of the village.
To look for illegal behavior, Jeevanandham travels to the village under the leadership of Karuppayi Aatha. The villagers beat him when he is unable to find anything. Returning to exact revenge, he burns Karuppayi Aatha alive during the conflict.
Meanwhile, Jeeva the criminal is courting Brindha, the daughter of Jeevanandham. However, Brindha adores Jeeva, the grandson of Karuppayi, and he harbors resentment towards his namesake for his grandmother’s passing. To trick her father into dying, he kidnaps Brindha and holds her as a prisoner.
