Transitioning to antagonist roles, Kumar showcased his talent in films like Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum (2009) and Aanmai Thavarael (2011). Notably, he took the lead in Padam Parthu Kaadhal Sol (2012) and later appeared in various villainous roles in films like Nagaram (2010), Markandeyan (2011), and Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012).
