Story:

Housefull is a Hindi comedy-drama film directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The dialogues were penned by Anvita Dutt, with Nadiadwala writing the storyline and Rameshwar S. Bhagat serving as the editor. This film marks the beginning of the Housefull franchise.

The main cast includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, and Jiah Khan, with a supporting cast featuring Boman Irani, Chunky Pandey, Randhir Kapoor, Lillete Dubey, and Malaika Arora. Jacqueline Fernandez makes a special appearance in an item number. Filmed in London and Italy on a budget of ₹30 crore, it was the final screen appearance of Jiah Khan, who passed away three years later on June 3, 2013.

The story revolves around a man who believes he is cursed with bad luck and sets out to find true love, only to become entangled in a series of lies.

Released worldwide on April 30, 2010, across over 750 screens in India, the film received mixed critical reviews but was a commercial success. It grossed over ₹124.50 crore globally and was declared a super hit. Domestically, it earned ₹75 crore, making it the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2010, following Dabangg, Golmaal 3, Raajneeti, and My Name Is Khan. The film led to three sequels—Housefull 2 in 2012, Housefull 3 in 2016, and Housefull 4 in 2019.

A fifth installment, Housefull 5, is slated for release on June 6, 2025.
