Rajkumar Hirani, also known as Raju Hirani, is a highly acclaimed Indian filmmaker celebrated for his contributions to Hindi cinema. He has earned numerous prestigious awards, including four National Film Awards and eleven Filmfare Awards, solidifying his status as one of India’s most successful directors. Hirani is known for crafting films that blend lightheartedness with profound societal themes, employing humor and emotional depth to address significant issues.

Hirani’s journey in the film industry began after he completed his education at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), where he initially pursued film editing. However, challenging experiences prompted him to shift to television advertising. He gradually made a name for himself as a director and producer of advertising films. It marked the beginning of the iconic “Munna Bhai” franchise. Hirani’s subsequent films, including “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” (2006) and “3 Idiots” (2009), continued to tackle important societal issues with humor and warmth. “3 Idiots” became the highest-grossing Indian film of its time.

Hirani’s later works, such as “PK” (2014) and “Sanju” (2018), achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success. “PK” became the highest-grossing Indian film at the time of its release, while “Sanju” portrayed the tumultuous life of actor Sanjay Dutt.
