Biography:

Lara Dutta Bhupathi, born on April 16, 1978, is an accomplished Indian actress and former Miss Universe. She gained fame for her roles in Hindi films, securing numerous awards, including a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Lara marked her debut in the film “Andaaz” (2003), which earned her critical acclaim and the Filmfare Award. She continued her success with movies like “Masti” (2004), “No Entry” (2005), “Bhagam Bhag” (2006), “Partner” (2007), “Housefull” (2010), and “Don 2” (2011).

After a break, she returned to the screen with remarkable performances in web series like “Hundred” (2020), “Kaun Banegi Shikharwati” (2022), and “Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley” (2023). Additionally, Lara appeared in the British miniseries “Beecham House” in 2019 and portrayed Indira Gandhi in the film “Bell Bottom” (2021).

Hailing from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Lara’s academic journey led her to complete her education in Mumbai, majoring in economics with a minor in communications. She’s fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Kannada.

Before entering the film industry, Lara made a mark in the modeling world by winning Gladrags Megamodel India in 1995, leading to her Miss Intercontinental win in 1997. She later clinched the Femina Miss India Universe title, paving her way to becoming Miss Universe 2000.

Her acting career has seen her in various hit films and web series, showcasing her versatile talents. She’s also been a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador since her Miss Universe win in 2001.
